NEW GPS FEATURE ADDED TO TOURISM PEI WEBSITE
CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI -- The Honourable Valerie Docherty, Minister of Tourism, is pleased to announce the addition of Global Positioning System (GPS) coordinates to listings on the Tourism PEI website.
Tourists travelling with a hand-held GPS or GPS navigation system in their car can enter the coordinates and be given directions to the place of interest.
“In the past few years, more and more travellers tend to own a GPS device so the potential audience for this new feature is huge,” said Minister Docherty. “With the participation of operators, my department added this enhancement to the tourism website and now users can take advantage of this latest technology trend.”
The GPS coordinates appear below the toll-free number for a listing, and above their email address. For more information, please visit our website at www.gentleisland.com."

NITRATE COMMISSION REPORT PROVIDED TO ISLANDERS
CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI -- The final report of the Commission on Nitrates in Groundwater was presented to Premier Robert Ghiz yesterday.
“I am very pleased to have received the report,” said Premier Ghiz. “Protecting our water quality is a top priority for all Islanders, and this report provides clear direction to Government on the issues we are facing and the measures that can be taken to address them.”
The report was presented to Cabinet today. It is now available on the government website at www.gov.pe.ca/go/CommissiononNitratesReport .
“We heard from many Islanders and many technical experts about the current status of nitrates in our groundwater,” Commission Chair Armand DesRoches said. “Our report is based on the understanding that the build-up of nitrates in our surface and groundwater did not take place overnight. The solution will also take a long-term effort, and all Islanders must participate in the solution.”
Premier Ghiz said the Commission deserves a great deal of public thanks for its hard work and commitment.
“I want to thank each of these individuals for taking on this important task,

Richard I want to update you as to the progress I am having with the heritage project that the CN pensioners are on the verge of missing out on.
Richard there were 125 submission made to the Heritage Canada Partnership fund.
Out of one hundred and twenty five projects that were submitted from across the country.
The pensioners was selected based upon it merits and ability to educate young people on the cultural connections and contribution made by rail way workers on PEI And their link to confederation.
The story is rich with opportunity for the pensioners to achieve their goal to preserve the rich legacy of railway work on Prince Edward Island.
In order to be successful and to secure this funding which is substantial.A federal contribution 322,000.00 for the development of a Canada wide web site that will create a national profile of the contribution and the collection of Railway artifacts and the stories of railway workers on Prince Edward Island and the provincial capitals from eash province at the time of Confederation.

Google Earth: "KML Gallery: Explore the Earth on Google
Google Earth is a geographic browser -- a powerful tool for viewing, creating and sharing interactive files containing highly visual location-specific information. We call these files KMLs (for Keyhole Markup Language): what HTML is to regular Internet browsers, KML is to geographic browsers. You can open KML files in both Google Earth and Google Maps, as well as in many other geographic browsers. This KML Gallery contains some interesting examples of KMLs that organizations, communities, and users just like you have created using both Google Earth and the 'Create a map' feature in Google Maps.
Check back here each week for new content, add the KML Gallery Gadget to your iGoogle page, or find even more things to explore in the Google Earth Community. You can also submit your own KML to be considered for inclusion in the Gallery."
